The path to Darmstadt for Pastor Bob Marsh has been winding and full of diverse experiences. Feeling an initial call of God into missions at age 8, he felt specifically called to Germany at 14. In high school he studied German, and was convinced he would minister there one day. Following graduation from St. Paul Bible College (now Crown College), and after 15 years in management with Marriott Corporation, Bob entered the ministry as a church planting pastor in Wisconsin. He served as planter and pastor there for 16 years, during which time he coached other church-planting pastors, and assisted with a regional church planting movement.
Finally arriving in Germany nearly 40 years
after his initial call, today Bob serves as the church planter and pastor of
Converge International Fellowship in Darmstadt, and serves with the Church Multiplication Ministry Team of the International Baptist Convention, focusing on Central Europe.
For Carol Marsh, coming to Germany is a return to the land of her ancestors. She also felt a call to missions in her early teen years. Since graduating from Bible College, Carol has been a wonderful mom to their three children, (now grown). She managed a local Subway restaurant for 12 years and has been involved in local church ministry, including the planting of two churches (in the USA and Germany).
Carol is gifted in hospitality and helps – making her a great missionary to international students, professionals and their families in Germany, who are far from their homes, family and friends. Her greatest joy is her family, especially their grandchildren: Asher, Cayden, Levi, and Samantha, who live in the US.
